Vintage Vogue Patterns

Image
I've started to collect uncut vintage Vogue patterns from the "Vogue Paris Originals" and "Vogue Couturier Designs" collections.  The patterns need to have the labels that Vogue used to provide with their designer patterns. I've bought patterns that I've made in the past ( and, sadly, long ago threw away) and ones that just remind me of something I would have made in the past. Vogue 1692 , Vogue Couturier Design pattern by Pucci of Italy.  This pattern was featured in Vogue pattern book February/March 1967.  Sadly the pattern envelope has been scribbled on but the inside is pristine and it has the original label Vogue used to provide with their designer patterns.  This pattern has some sentiment attached as it's the pattern I used to make my prom dress in high school.  It was fairly scandalous at the time as culottes were strictly forbidden.   I had the view on the right, where the ankle was left loose so it would look like a dress when worn, if you ...

Needlepoint

Needlepoint kits from Ehrman Tapestry: Needlepoint kit from Elizabeth Bradley.  They make an acrylic trap that fits this needlepoint exactly.  I just need to finish by adding back and ordering the kit.  I've had kit about 30 years now, so in no hurry.

Slipcovers and Upholstery

These slipcovers are made using 10 oz. prewashed cotton duck from Big Duck Warehouse.  The small slipcover chairs were Grandma's.  Because they were prewashed multiple times I can machine wash and dry these if needed - but they need a lot of ironing, so if I ever do this again I'll look for a synthetic that doesn't wrinkle so much. These reversible cushion covers and pillows were made for Cathy in 2016 I bought this rocking chair at a consignment shop and made the cushions using some fabric I had on hand.

This vest is different and I love it.   It uses Vogue Marcy Tilton pattern V9322.  I used a Hong Kong seam finish on the inside seams.

Dresses and Jumpsuits

I love, love, love this Zandra Rhodes V1617 jumpsuit.  It's an interesting design, open at both sides above the pocket.  You step into it through the neck.  The back tie reaches around to the front and secures with a hook and eye.  Then the front tie wraps around back and around to tie in the front, like an obi.   Vogue V1470 by designers Tom and Linda Platt, made in 2021.  It's a lined sleeveless underdress with an unlined overdress attached at the neck and shoulder. I've made two versions of this Vogue V1482.   Vogue V1614 also by Tom and Linda Platt, is a lined underdress, sleeveless on one side and sleeve on the other, with an unlined overdress attached at the neck and one shoulder. Another Tom and Linda Platt, Vogue V1720.  The pattern is huge  so I had to take it in quite a bit, but I'm happy with the results. Vogue V1735 is one of their most popular patterns, and has been re-issued as both V1735 and V9253.  I love this o...

Pets and Crafts

This quilted tote bag, made to hold knitting and tools, used a Vera Bradley tote bag as inspiration This Christmas doll is from Vogue pattern 8336 and was fun to make.  Another pattern, Vogue 8337, has other clothing for her.  I thought it would be fun to make season outfits. Cute quilted ironing board caddy I've made lots of little dog coats.  One of my favorites is Olive's quilted coat with a matching tote bag for me. Bailey and Bella are adorable in their matching dog coats.  The labels on the back of the plaid coats are made using iron on inkjet printer paper, with their names and our contact information.
